What is the church?

Is it a building?

A social club?

A hobby?

An organisation?

This Autumn at St Martin’s we have been asking the question “what is the church?” In search of an answer we looked at 1 Peter 2:4-10. In these verses Peter gives us a glorious description of the church. He describes the church as a spiritual house that God is building. This house is not made up of bricks and mortar but it’s made up of people who believe in Jesus. Far from being dull and boring this means the church is the most exciting place in the world. It’s exciting because it’s the one place where God is at work building for himself a people who believe in Jesus. Don’t believe us? Well join us to find out more.
