Midweek groups and activities

IDENTITY

We regularly offer short courses for those wanting to investigate further  the identity and mission of Jesus.

Currently we are joining our sister church at Emmanuel Stonecot Hill for an IDENTITY course. This is a seven-week course looking at the Gospel of John, to find out some answers to life’s big questions. Who are we? And who exactly is God? The key is Jesus – each session looks at his identity and mission. All are welcome: it starts on Wednesday 15 April, 7.45 to 9.15pm at Emmanuel Morden. Growth Groups

Gathering together to study the Bible and enjoy fellowship together is vital in helping us grow in faith, in community and in mission. Therefore many of us meet in a ‘Growth Group’. There are several Growth Groups and they meet in people’s homes either during the day or in the evening, usually on a fortnightly basis.

We have an annual Lent Course, when most Growth Groups join together for teaching sessions on a particular Bible theme.

Our Growth Groups are currently studying The Bible Course

Play & Praise

Play & Praise is our weekday group for our youngest children and their grown-ups with Bible story, craft, singing, play, refreshments and  chat – and it’s free to attend!

Every Thursday 10.00am to 11.30am  during term time.

Both Play & Praise & Babies & Toddlers are run by volunteers from St Martin’s church and we invite all parents, grandparents and carers. We are a friendly group with a desire to see parents and children make friends and build community. The groups meets in the main St Martin’s building and you can enter through the main door which is open at all times during the session. Just turn up!

Seniors

We are rethinking our provision for our Seniors. Watch this space for further updates!!

Social & Outreach

We hold social events such as a Quiz Night or a meal like a Harvest Lunch where we look forward to inviting friends and relatives to a pleasant evening of fun and conversation.

We also organise occasional afternoon teas and outreach evenings where we seek to share the good news of Jesus more pointedly in a relaxing atmosphere. Irregularly we host a Craft Evening where the women of the church invite friends to come and learn how to make something that will enhance their homes or their fridge! The evening will include a short talk on some aspect of the Christian faith.

We occasionally organise themed events for families with craft, games, songs and Bible teaching.

Babies & Toddlers

St Martin’s Baby and Toddler Group is for parents / carers and their pre-school children. We have a wide range of play equipment and toys suitable for babies through to pre-school children. There is also an interactive circle time featuring singing and a short bible story for children.

Babies & Toddlers meets every Friday from 9:30am during school term time.

Prayer Meetings

Our most important meeting of the month is our prayer meeting which usually takes place on the first Tuesday of the month. This is a time for members to praise God for who he is and what he has done for us in Jesus Christ, as well as to thank him for answered prayer. We also pray for church matters, our mission and ministry as well as for the wider community. We start at 7:45 pm, and finish promptly at 9:00 pm.

We also have a weekly prayer meeting on Zoom on a Tuesday morning from 9.15-10.00am.

Our Mission

We aim to bring glory to God by helping people to:

Know –  Jesus and his love and salvation for you.

Grow –  in Jesus, and be transformed by His Spirit.

Go – to serve Jesus locally, nationally and globally.
