The weather was the only winner as Morden Parish's third match had to be abandoned as a draw due to rain after the first innings. Morden's first ever game arranged through the Club Cricket Conference saw them facing Kookaburra Fordham Surrey League Division Five outfit St. Lukes 2nd XI

Morden were inserted and the battle commenced. Ben and his new opening partner Phil Clarke, made a bright start adding 35 in 8.2 overs before Phil holed out at square leg (he hit 3 boundaries). Ben hit 4 fours in his innings which ended 2 overs later. There was a mini collapse from 56-2 to 77-7, but Alan Gilley held firm and when Aameer Shiraz came to the crease, his quickfire 27 helped see Morden past 100 for the first time this season. Alan hit 3 fours in his innings. The captain was satisfied with with a final total of 127 on a damp pitch.

The elements intervened to curtail the afternoon's entertainment. As the players from both sides gathered around a TV to watch events unfold in Cardiff, the captains made a final inspection out in the middle. Not having the luxury of a roof to close on proceedings, they were forced to accept that no further play was possible and shook on a draw.

The team included 4 changes to the previous weeks eleven and one personal milestone was that Ben went past 100 runs for the season. He only requires 89 more to reach the 1000 mark for Morden and take his place as the 19th player to do this since 1957.
