Morden Parish recorded their highest ever score against Corinthians but have now lost all three meetings between the clubs. Having elected to bowl first, Parish struggled to protect the very short boundary on the pavilion side, and the visitors ended up with 15 fours and 4 sixes in their 149-8 total.

Ben took the 1st wicket in the 5th over with a perfect yorker whilst in the 8th over, John removed the dangerous number three when Steve dived to take a spectacular one handed catch. The third wicket didn't fall until the 16th over, when John removed the stubborn opener by softening him up with a nice full toss into the 'midrift,' and getting him caught off the very next ball by Ahmed. The next pair added 41 before Nadeem bowled Rafiq for 42. His batting partner Ahmad went on to make 50 not out as Corinthians threw the bat well in the last few overs, although Alan picked up 2 wickets thanks to a stumping from Phil and an lbw decision by Chairman Richard Polley. Unfortunately, catches were dropped by Charles, Steve, Neil and Phil, but Ben and John returned near the end to take another wicket a piece and keep the visitors below 150. John's last victim was his 50th wicket for the Parish.

When the home side batted after tea, Ian Tyne was out in just the 2nd over, and this was the start of a collapse which produced a score of 37-7 after 18.2 overs. The only highlights upto this point were a massive six from John Goddard, a lovely four from Alan Gilley and James Davidson's total of 3, which took him past 500 runs in his career for the Parish, which started in 1989.

After this however, the tail wagged quite well, bringing about some respectively to the score, with Charles hitting 4 fours in his run-a-ball 19, Nadeem producing 2 sixes and 2 fours in a rapid 25 not out, and school boy Neil Brooker equalling his personal best score for the Parish with a stylish 10, which included a textbook boundary. There were still 9 overs remaining when the last wicket fell, which emphasises the fact that Morden Parish urgently need to develop the art of pacing an innings if results are to improve.
