A Batting collapse led to Morden Parish losing their first match of the season. Chasing 131 Morden were all out for 94 having at one stage been 82-3.

Cuddington made slow progress during their innings. However, they were helped by some poor fielding and several dropped cacthes. All 3 bowlers performed well and Ben Sargent-Cain proved his match fitness by bowling 19 overs unchanged. Other highlights were Steven Alexander taking a catch on his debut and Russell Atkins conceding 4 runs in a "What happened next" moment. Having chased the ball down and stopped it inside the boundary Atko proceded to hurl it at the tree within the boundary rope conceding 4 overthrows to give the batsman a 6, as he had already completed 2 runs.

When Morden batted Ben capped a fine individual performance by top scoring with 45 which included 6 fours and 1 six (courtesy of overthrows into the tree again). Only Phil Clarke and James Davidson joined Ben in double figures and with a couple of controversial umpiring decisions the innings folded. Ian Tyne could not bat due to injuring his hand while catching a ball in the Cuddington innings.
